Your parents should encourage you to have independent thinking and to be an independent strong assertive person with spirit from the get go. You do not need a book or a teacher for that . That’s more control. I came from a big family that soon prepares you for life and survival let me tell you! What schools should do is stop preventing critical independent thinking- that is what they are doing. Most people are born with that already and they are knocking it out of them .
